Does American booksellers list my book for sale?
American Booksellers does not sell books.
We serve only as a warehouse, keeping your books safe and in order. We ship the books you want shipped to the customer in the manner you designate. Your name appears on the shipping label, not ours.

Can American Booksellers list books for me?
We currently do not have a listing service but can recommend programs that will help you list more. We have had a great response for this service--frankly, the need is there. The problem is that describing books is so subjective that it is difficult to list books from remote sites. We are working on ways to overcome this and will post our findings on our website as they become available.

What is e-fulfillment?
E-fulfillment is an outsource service that picks, packs, and ships your orders to customers. American Booksellers also houses your inventory and offers on-going reports designed to increase your online sales.

Why is outsourcing good for my business?
Having a third party take over the burden of packing and shipping books, trekking to and from the post office, and keeping abreast of changing postal regulations leaves you with more free time. This way you can use your days to find and list books or simply relax with friends and family.

How secure are my books?
American Booksellers is housed in a spacious, secure warehouse that's able to handle your inventory whether it's ten or ten thousand volumes. We are not open to the public and the only people with access to your books are our employees. Our staff is experienced at handling rare and collectible books and completely trustworthy.

What is my commitment?
Your commitment depends upon the contract plan you choose. Our aim is to be flexible with our customers in order to help them grow and feel secure that American Booksellers is working for them. Storage costs and mailing fees are charged to the credit card we keep on file. Each month you will pay for the number of books stored with us and we tally your shipping costs weekly.

How do I sign up?
Sign up is easy. Click on our sign up link or call us directly. We need some simple information and then you choose your preferred fulfillment plan.

How do I get my books to you?
You can drop off or mail your inventory to us. If it is a large amount or if it is difficult for you to bring the books to us, we can make arrangements for a pick up at a nominal cost. Once you're up and running, you can opt to replace sold books or send us as many additional volumes that you wish.

How secure is my customer information?
All our information is carefully maintained. What American Booksellers receives from you is order and shipping information. Credit card information may be kept entirely in your control.

What if I don't want to use all of American Booksellers' services?

American Booksellers strives to serve our customers' needs. We can provide storage only: both boxed and shelved. We can also provide complete e-fulfillment. The choice is yours and that choice can change at your discretion.

What relationship is American Booksellers to me?
We are a B2B operation and serve you as a drop-ship and storage facility. Our aim is to help you grow by taking over the burden of fulfillment, leaving your time free to increase your sales potential or to eliminate work that takes away time from your family or the things you enjoy. You retain control over your business and serve your customers as you always have.

How will my customer know an order's status?
You will have a password-protected page that contains your inventory, a record of all orders that includes where each package is-whether it is in process at our warehouse or en route to the customer. This information is updated in real time and tracked through the delivery option of your choice.

How do I know when to send more books to American Booksellers?
Your inventory listing is available to you via your private account. You may choose to replace sold books, keeping the number of books the same from month to month. You may add any additional titles at any time. One of the handy tools Book Clerk provides is a review of your inventory that shows how long a book has been shelved. We will also provide you with tips to increase sales or jump-start older books. At any time you may ask for books to be returned to you.

How accurate will my inventory be?
The staff at American Booksellers has worked selling books online and knows the pitfalls that can occur. Book Clerk was designed for accuracy. Each book added to our warehouse is double checked against your manifest and assigned a locator number. Each book sold is carefully monitored throughout our process and is deleted once the book is shipped.

What if I have a question about a book?
Call us or email us the question. All questions are anwered promptly.

What happens to returned books?
If a book is returned, whether it is the choice of the customer or the package wasn't retrieved, it comes back to you. Your company name appears on the mailing label unless if you specify to drop-ship otherwise. Should you choose to have the book re-listed for sale, send it along with your next batch of books.

What if a book gets lost?
Unfortunately, books can get lost even in the best of mailing systems and despite the best efforts to keep books tracked. American Booksellers will employ your company policy and provide any insurance you require.

Are there any incentives or discounts offered by American Booksellers?
Yes. American Booksellers knows and appreciates the value of our charter members. Your favorable recommendation is worth a great deal to us and so we offer discounts for storage rental for every new client that lists you as a referral. Any special offers will be sent to you through our on-going reports and on your sign-in page. We also provide a bulletin board for book-related topics and a calendar of upcoming shows.
